Acronis has launched the newest version of its backup software, Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.
The headline features in the new software are its price – just $AUD329 per server – and the inclusion of integrated source and target deduplication.
The software is also capable of agentless backup of virtual machines created in Microsoft and VMWare environments and has added, with the Acronis instance running on the host covering backup for all virtual machines.
New Snap support
Distributor Lan 1 has been appointed an official Authorised Service Provider for Overland Storage in Australia.
The appointment means Lan 1 becomes a service option for local users of the Snap server range that Overland acquired last year from Adaptec.
New RAID cards
While we are on Adaptec, the company recently released its Series 5Z Unified Serial RAID controller family. The new products include a flash memory cache that preserves data in the event of total power loss in the data centre, removing the need for batteries to support RAID implementations and thereby saving power.
