The Storage Networking Industry Association for Australia and New Zealand (SNIA ANZ) has issued a reminder to the industry of its free one-day Storage Academy conferences, intended to educate users about the topic of storage virtualisation.
Attendees will learn about "a range of virtualisation techniques and terminologies, and how the different methods of virtualisation interact with one another".
Expert commentary will cover the various aspects of storage virtualisation, including the server, infrastructure and disk/tape storage layers.
The conference will take place on the following dates:
- Sydney Hilton — 18 March 2008
- Auckland Langham — 26 March 2008
SNIA has employed the use of the Storage Academies elsewhere in the world, and says users have been pleased with the results.
"The Academy conference is key to our long-term event strategy, which is aimed at providing high-quality education to the end-user community," SNIA ANZ chairman Jacob Van der Eyk said.
"Delegates who attend this series will benefit from a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of virtualisation, delivered by subject matter experts from the industry."
The Academies will feature two separate programs: vendor-neutral talks from SNIA representatives, and vendor-specific talks from Academy sponsors, including Alphawest, CA, IBM, Quantum, SpectrumData and Symantec.
